I’ve decided to challenge myself with a weekly photography assignment.
Each Saturday, I’m going to post one of my photos taken in 2018.
Above is a list of prompts to help inspire me to reach this goal. Why weekly? Well, I find it’s a little more realistic than a daily goal. I always get bogged down when it’s a daily challenge. It becomes more a chore, rather than something I WANT to do!
The order won’t matter. I found that in past challenges, I wasn’t always inspired by a particular prompt, so I just ended up not taking any picture. With this one, I’m just going to cross out the prompt once I’ve completed it. So, if I feel like doing “Symmetry” first, I’ll do “Symmetry” first. Then if I want to do “Close Up” next… well, you get the picture.
Want to join me? Feel free to take these prompts and come up with your own. Post to your blog or instagram or where-ever!
Here’s to #2018picoftheweek … See you on Saturday 🙂
Oooh, I really like this idea!!! I’ve been wanting to do something similar for a long time, so I might try the same thing and maybe go off of your prompt list, if you don’t mind. 😀 Looking forward to your photography posts!! 😀

Yes, definitely. Feel free to switch out the prompts for some different ones. I might end of up doing that as well!

Well, I’m not a photographer but just recently I like to pretend that I am one and I love taking pictures using my phone, sorry, I don’t have a fancy camera, but I will try to do this activity. Sounds like fun.

Nothing wrong with photos taken on your phone! I look forward to seeing what you bring to the challenge. 🙂

Wonderful idea…I may give it a try, even if I don’t make it every week. My poetry blog keeps me pretty busy.

Would love to have you join in. And no problem if you miss a few. It’s meant to be enjoyable, not a chore!

I like the idea. I’m already posting the occasional photo/s, usually themed. But I might tag along with your themes (saves me coming up with them!)

Yes, please join in whenever. And what I find really nice is that you can pick whichever prompt motivates YOU at the moment.
If you use #2018picoftheweek, I’ll be able to check out whenever you use one of my prompts. 🙂

Big query. You want I should use #2018picoftheweek on my blog when I post the photo? So here I’m to show my ignorance. I thought the hashtag was only used on Twitter. Which, remarkably timed, I’m intending to sign with tomorrow.

You’re right that hashtags are a Twitter thing, as well as Instagram (and to some extent Facebook).
For WordPress, you list the hashtags as a TAG (there’s actually no need to put the hashtag symbol #, but I don’t think it hurts, either). So, just put “2018picoftheweek” as a tag. Hope that makes sense.
