“Dino-Stick” / Theme: Plant
I found this stick lying on the ground. And I was so intrigued by it, I picked it up. Because, well, doesn’t it look like some prehistoric dinosaur? May I present to you, Dino-Stick. (But sadly, I’m afraid this guy might be last one of its kind.)

“Reaching Skyward” / Theme: Treetops
I took this photo after a visit to our local lilac garden. While it’s not quite the sky I was hoping for—a nice sunrise, anybody?—I did find myself drawn to those clouds. And, as you can imagine, the fragrance of this place is amazing. All because of those beautiful blossoms reaching skyward.

This shot was inspired by A.A. Milne. “Here is Edward Bear coming downstairs now, bump, bump, bump, on the back of his head, behind Christopher Robin. It is, as far as he knows, the only way of coming downstairs, but sometimes he feels that there really is another way… if only he could stop bumping for a moment and think of it!”

“Spider Tree” / Theme: Nature
This tree brings up so many questions. I mean, what makes a tree grow like this? Is it some sort of portal to another land? Does anything live under there? Assuming this tree doesn’t already have tenants, don’t you just want to make a fort under there?
Well, it certainly makes for an interesting photo. It makes me wonder if it’s going to start walking at any moment.

“Lilac Garden” / Theme: Trees
One of my favourite trees are lilac trees. Every spring, I go to photograph a lilac garden near where I live. This garden has every type of lilac you’ve never heard about. This year, we went a little later than usual, and most of the blossoms had wilted and died. But not all! There were a few late blooming lilac trees.
I went specifically near sunset to take advantage of “pretty light”. However, the clouds covered up the sun for most of the time, except for this brief moment. That’s when I went running to this tree so I could get this shot.
