Photo Challenge #45 / A Long Time Ago

20211010ma_3656“Lantern” / Theme: A Long Time Ago

A little about this photo…

I just love lanterns and candles and old lighting fixtures.

For this shot, I like how the sunlight and shadows were falling on this particular lantern.

Photo Challenge #44 / Goodnight

20210918ma_3350“Goodnight Moon” / Theme: Goodnight

A little about this photo…

We were down at the lake for the sunset. As the sun dipped below the horizon, I turned around to see this sight … all the boats, tucked in for the night.

Photo Challenge #43 / See That?

20211019ma_3666“Nature’s Lace” / Theme: See That?

A little about this photo…

This is what happens to the husks of tomatillos come autumn. They turn into these lacey little “pumpkins”. They weigh next to nothing. It’s almost like they’re tumbleweeds!

Photo Challenge #42 / Golden Sunset

20210918ma_3344“Fishing at Sunset” / Theme: Golden Sunset

A little about this photo…

We went down to the pier to take a walk. Of course, I had my camera. What luck that we were blessed with such a beautiful sunset! And to make that sunset even better were the people fishing off the pier.

Photo Challenge #29 / Sunset

IMG_9562“Painted Sky” / Theme: Sunset

A little about this photo…

The colour of the sunset was stunning a few nights ago. I grabbed my camera and practically ran out of the house to get this shot. Got two random houses, but I love how their silhouettes are juxtaposed against that amazing painted sky!

Photo Challenge #46 / Sunset

“Lighthouse at Magic Hour” / Theme: Sunset

A little about this photo…

On the shores of Lake Ontario…. this lighthouse is a favourite subject of mine. But I rather like how the colours and clouds came together for this shot. I’ll be the first to point out that it’s not the most stunning sunset shot I’ve ever seen. But I do like muted colours, so I guess that’s why I picked this photo.

P.S. Some lighthouses are tall and imposing. This one’s rather cute, don’t you think?

Photo Challenge #30 / Summertime

20180726ma_3972“Sunflower and Sunshine” / Theme: Summertime

A little about this photo…

Ah, sunflowers plus sunshine equal summertime. The way I’ve shot it, it looks like this sunflower could be in a field of sunflowers. Of course, it’s not. Actually, it’s in front of the local hardware store. And for the past couple of weeks, I’ve walked past and thought to myself, “There’s my Summertime photo prompt!” But, of course, I never had my camera with me. Until now. And I’m very pleased that the sun was in a good place, just to add that little extra summery sparkle. 🙂

Photo Challenge #20 / Follow the Path

20180517ma_2911b

“A Bend in the Road” / Theme: Follow the Path

A little about this photo…

I have always had a fascination with bends in the road. Probably because one of my favourite books is Anne of Green Gables. There’s a quote from Anne: “…my future seemed to stretch out before me like a straight road… Now there is a bend in it. I don’t know what lies around the bend, but I’m going to believe that the best does. It has a fascination of its own, that bend, Marilla.” (Anne of Green Gables, Chapter 38)

This photo was taken as the sun was setting. I love the sun flare in this shot and the golden overtones. What’s around that bend? I have no idea…
