Photo Challenge #52 / Reunion

20211222ma_4186“The Best Quote” / Theme: Reunion

A little about this photo…

For the final photo of 2021, I’m going with this gift to me from someone I haven’t seen in such a long time. (Hence the prompt: reunion.) This person knows me quite well enough to know I wouldn’t even need an attribution to know where this quote comes from! (It’s a Lizzy Bennet quote by the way.)

Happy Christmas!

Photo Challenge #51 / Black and White

20211216ma_4055“Miniature” / Theme: Black and White

A little about this photo…

I have always loved miniature things. From having my own dollhouse to enjoying my grandparents’ miniature Christmas village. I have fond memories of my mom taking my siblings and me to look at other  Christmas village displays when we were kids.

This little church once belonged to my grandparents. And so I decided to capture it in all its black and white glory!

Photo Challenge #50 / Pages

20211121ma_3975“Bookish” / Theme: Pages

A little about this photo…

For this prompt, I’m going with this shot. There’s just something so appealing to me as the pages of a book!

(Two more weekends left in #2021picoftheweek photography challenge. (And that also means, I’ll be posting the new 2022 challenge soon.)

Photo Challenge #49 / Texture

20210116ma_0187“Weathered” / Theme: Texture

A little about this photo…

There’s something about weathered objects at the beach. I put my focus on this whatever-it-is. (I think it’s some sort of old cement footing that may have belonged to a boardwalk or something in the past.)

The lighthouse in the background is out of focus. I tried putting the focus on the lighthouse, but I like this shot better.

I think it’s because of the texture.

Photo Challenge #48 / Look Up

20211106ma_3777“Pretty in Yellow” / Theme: Look Up

A little about this photo…

The leaves are almost off the trees by this time in November. But I did get this shot a week or so ago. Isn’t that yellow against the blue enchanting? Even more so when the sun cooperated with the photographer and did its thing!

Photo Challenge #48 / Up a Creek

20191025ma_2661“Flowing Around the Bend” / Theme: Up a Creek

A little about this photo…

This photo is from a few weeks back. Now the leaves are pretty much gone. And yes, that’s a creek… Its official name is Twelve Mile Creek (I believe). I like the church spire (I’m guessing that’s what it is) that is peeking over the trees in the background. I also like how the creek just goes around the bend. What’s up there? Perhaps an adventure!

Photo Challenge #45 / Under Water

20191108ma_2715“On the Creek Bed” / Theme: Under Water

A little about this photo…

I like how you can see under the water to the bottom of the creek. But I also like how you can also see all the reflections on the water… the leaves and even the sky peeking through. It all mingles so nicely together with the rocks and sand and dirt on the creek bed. And of course, the leaves floating on top of the water add their own little contribution to complete the photo.

Photo Challenge #43 / Pick a Colour

20191025ma_2659“Autumn Colours” / Theme: Pick a Colour

A little about this photo…

Every year, the leaves lose their green and turn different shades. This year, it seems like pretty much every tree has decided unanimously to pick the colour yellow. I’m always hoping for oranges and reds to mix things up a bit. But alas… it’s yellow.

Still, yellow is a pretty colour, don’t you think?

(By the way, that spire belongs to a church in my neck of the woods. You may recognize it from the photo I chose to go with the announcement of this year’s prompts. I think it’s so pretty. Like it belongs in a fairy tale!)

Photo Challenge #45 / Fall Colours

20181108ma_5979“Hanging on the Line to Dry” / Theme: Fall Colours

A little about this photo…

I’ve been puzzling over how to do this prompt. I’ve taken a bunch of photos of the colourful leaves on trees, but nothing stands out as Wow! So I started collecting some individual leaves. That’s when I got inspired by a pic I saw online and thought it had just the playful vibe I wanted. And it shows Fall Colours quite nicely.
