Photo Challenge #18 / Cheeky

20220413ma_0529“White Squirrel!” / Theme: Cheeky

A little about this photo…

White squirrels are NOT the norm around us. So, this guy definitely caught my attention as he was climbing all around the tree. I thought it’d work for the “cheeky” prompt.

Photo Challenge #17 / Green Thumb

20220422ma_0564“Spring Garden” / Theme: Green Thumb

A little about this photo…

After quite a cold winter, it’s nice to see all the spring flowers. These are the tiny daffodils that grace our front beds. Not sure I have exactly what you’d call a green thumb (at least for indoor plants!), but I guess I have one for my outdoor plants!

Photo Challenge #16 / Tradition

20220414ma_0534“Every Year” / Theme: Tradition

A little about this photo…

This time of year is so full of tradition. Somber tradition. Serious tradition. Fun tradition. Today, I am depicting the fun (and yummy) part of Easter. Since I can’t eat chocolate, I have come to appreciate jelly beans even more. These colorful little bits of happiness. My favorites? Green, orange, yellow. Oh, and the black jelly beans. Yum!

Photo Challenge #15 / Bloom

20220408ma_0523a“Blooming Spring” / Theme: Bloom

A little about this photo…

Snowdrops are one of the first signs of Spring. Usually, by this time, they’re gone. But it’s been so cool this year that we still have some. They just begged me to pick them and bring them inside for a little photoshoot.

Photo Challenge #14 / April Fool

20220327ma_0482a“Robins in the Snow” / Theme: April Fool

A little about this photo…

I didn’t think I’d be able to use the ‘April Fool’ prompt, but here I am! Yesterday was April Fool’s Day and the weather felt like it was playing a little trick on us. A little snow? You bet! But the robins are out despite the snow. Because they know the truth. It’s spring!

Photo Challenge #13 / Trees

20220316ma_0461“Foggy Morning” / Theme: Trees

A little about this photo…

A few days ago, we had a delightful foggy morning. There’s something about going about in a mist where you can’t quite see everything. It’s not easy to photograph, but I liked how this one turned out!

Note: This is the FINAL photo for the bingo card (January-March). I got two bingos! Yay! (I almost got three.)

Photo Challenge #12 / Mail Call

20220316ma_0456“It Came by Air” / Theme: Mail Call

A little about this photo…

I’ve been waiting since January to see this package in the mail! This very colorful (or should I say colourful?) envelope contains a short story I got published in Storytime magazine, which comes out of the UK. Yes, it’s March, which means it took two months to get to my neck of the woods in Canada.

If you look closely, you’ll see it apparently came by air mail. Two months seems like a long time for air mail. Maybe they had a very slow plane!

Anyhow, I’m glad to finally hold it in my hand: “Mrs Valencia and the Paella” … a short story about a very yummy rice dish.

A little about this photo…

Winter is holding out, giving us a little more snow for March! But there is always beauty to found!

Photo Challenge #10 / Negative Space

20220114xs_034“A Light in the Darkness” / Theme: Negative Space

A little about this photo…

Saw this as I was locking up one day at work. Had most of the lights out. I loved how the light looks in all that negative space.
