Taking a Break

I’m taking a book review break. Too much going on. Not as much reading. (I don’t even have NaNo as an excuse! Not that I’m not writing… if that makes sense.)

I plan to be back in December. Maybe. (We’ll see.)

Do you sometimes need a media break? Do you go offline completely or just take a bit of a break? Let me know in the comments.

P.S. For those of you who are interested in my sweet potato experiment. Sadly, I only got 2 (maybe 3?) sweet potatoes. On the negative side, I’m not sure I’ll grow sweet potatoes again. On the positive side, they were delicious.

  1. I sometimes take a break, but try to be planned ahead for two months on blog posts. I’ve gone so long without missing a day that I don’t feel that I can! It’s usually not a problem. Hope that your break is restful and productive in other ways.

  2. I often cut way back on social media, not because I don’t enjoy it, but it takes up too much time, and it’s hard to juggle family, friends, the day job and writing! Not to mention my dog… Hope your break goes well and looking forward to seeing you back next month (or whenever you can). Take care!

  3. I’m currently on a writing break. Don’t know how long it will last. Too many commitments right now. Stepping back and taking a deep breath is often the remedy to come back stronger. Hope yours does the trick.

  4. I fully understand, Maria. My last meeting with my SCBWI international critique partners will be the first week of December. After that, I’m gone until January 15. I agree with Valinora’s comment. We can’t be omnipresent on social. It takes too much time away from our writing.
Regarding our sweet potato experiment, mine are still growing because of Italy’s unusually mild weather. My ordinary potato plants after the drought have revived, weird. I’ll dig up my sweet ones this weekend and see if I have any. We all need a break once in a while; therefore, take the time you need to rest and relax during the holiday season.
