Photo Challenge #26 / Up Close

20210625ma_1363“Well-Loved” / Theme: Up Close

A little about this photo…

There’s something about getting a brand new book. The freshness of something that’s never been opened. But to be honest, there’s a type of book I love even better than a brand new one. It’s an old book. I’m a sucker for used book sales. And I particularly am drawn to old hardback books. I love the worn pages. The little notes (not too many, but here and there is fine) former owners penned within those worn pages. Even the odd dog-ear.

And so I leave it to you. Up close.

(By the way, for this shot, I grabbed an old copy of the Grimm Fairy Tales. Well-loved indeed!)

  1. What a gorgeous photograph! I love how you blurred out the left side—it makes the photo look almost like an old painting (which is fitting, considering the age of the book). I always appreciate you sharing these wonderful photos!
